Editorial Policy

A HueSteps recipe must solve one makeup task, remain useful without a purchase, and state the limits of its evidence.

01

Publication Gates & Criteria

  • One clear user job and a direct, verifiable answer near the top
  • Complete formula roles, preparation, six to ten sequential steps, exact placement, adaptations, and fixes
  • Image, color, and step consistency checked together against the model identity contract
  • Unique metadata, canonical URL, internal links, and valid structured data
  • Mobile, keyboard, reduced-motion, and no-JavaScript accessibility verification
02

Claims, Sources & Credibility

We describe observable placement and technique. We do not call content tested, long-wearing, dermatologist-approved, or professionally reviewed unless documentation supports that exact claim.

Product descriptions are written from the functional role a formula must perform (e.g. translucent satin wash, matte diffusion), not copied from merchant promotional copy.

03

Updates, Revisions & Corrections

Recipe content is reviewed on a six-month cycle. Any future product link is checked at least monthly. Material changes update the visible modified date; routine builds do not create artificial freshness.

Send any correction with the page URL and specific concern directly to editorial@huesteps.com.
